Senkyunolide H(C12H16O4,224.3) is a phthalide that has been found in L. chuanxiong and has diverse biological activities.It increases levels of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) in HepG2 cells, as well as reduces hydrogen peroxide-induced increases in reactive oxygen species (ROS) and malondialdehyde (MDA) in the same cells when used at concentrations of 150 and 200 µg/ml.
