Isobavicalcone (Corylifolinin)(C20H20O4,324.37), derived from Psoralea corylifolia, is an effective inhibitor of Akt signaling pathway that can induce apoptosis in human cancer cells (with an IC50 value of 7.92 μ M inhibits the growth of OVCAR-8 cancer cells) and has anticancer and antiproliferative activities. Isobavicalcone can also induce the production of reactive oxygen species in OVCAR-8 cells.
