1,2-Distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-polyethylene glycol-tetrafluorophenylis a PEG linker with a DSPE moiety and an activated TFP ester.The hydrophobic nature of DSPE allows for the encapsulation and aggregation of other hydrophobic drugs. Hydrophilic PEG linkers increase the water solubility of the overall compound allowing drug delivery. Compared to NHS esters,TFP esters can react with primary amine groups and are also less prone to hydrolysis.
