Brefeldin A blocks the transport of secreted and membrane proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus. Brefeldin A is also an inhibitor of autophagy and mitophagy. Brefeldin A is a CRISPR/Cas9 activator. Brefeldin A inhibits HSV-1 and has anti-cancer activity.
