Streptavidin-Acrylamide

Streptavidin acrylamide can be co-polymerized with acrylamide on polymeric surfaces to create a uniform monolayer of the immobilized streptavidin. The streptavidin can then bind and isolate biotinylated-ligands, including probes, enzymes, antibodies and drugs.Streptavidin is a 52,800 dalton homotetramer protein. It has an extraordinarily high affinity for biotin, one molecule of streptavidin binds four molecules of biotin by a non-covalent interaction that is essentially irreversible.
