The vapor is dark red. It is soluble in ethanol, ether and acetic acid,but insoluble in water.The main function of biotin is to act as a coenzyme in decarboxylation,carboxylation and dehydrogenation.It can transfer carbon dioxide to another compound,thus changing one compound into another.
