N-CDs@ZnO Composite nanoparticles are functional composite materials that load nitrogen doped carbon dots (N-CDs) onto the surface of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles, possessing multiple functions such as photocatalysis, antibacterial, biological imaging, and photodynamic therapy (PDT) for tumors.
This material adjusts the band structure of ZnO through N-CDs, significantly enhancing its visible light absorption ability and promoting photo generated electron hole separation, thereby enhancing photocatalytic efficiency and antibacterial performance. Under ultraviolet or visible light irradiation, it can produce reactive oxygen species (ROS), effectively kill bacteria and degrade organic pollutants, which is suitable for environmental purification and auxiliary treatment of infectious diseases.
In addition, the fluorescence properties of N-CDs endow the composite system with biological imaging capabilities, which can be used for real-time monitoring of cell labeling and drug delivery processes; Combined with the photodynamic effect of ZnO, selective killing of tumor cells can also be achieved, which has the potential for integrated cancer diagnosis and treatment.
