Aggregation-Induced Emission(AIE)is a photophysical phenomenon observed in some organic compounds where their luminescent properties are enhanced when they aggregate or crystallize from solution.The AIE phenomenon is often attributed to the restriction of intramolecular motions(RIM).In the molecularly dispersed state,non-radiative decay pathways are more accessible due to the ability of the molecule to undergo rotations and vibrations freely.
