MBP [87-99] Peptide
Myelin basic protein[87-99] Peptide
Product description
Myelin basic protein (MBP) is a major constituent of the myelin sheath of oligodendrocytes and Schwann cells in the nervous system. Numerous MBP isoforms are involved in myelin membrane formation and stabilization by interacting with the lipids in the myelin membrane. The major form of MBP is a protein of about 18.5 kDa (170 aa). MBP [87-99] Peptide is a major encephalitogenic epitope in MBP that induces T-cell proliferation with Th1 polarization in the CNS. This peptide is a major antigenic component implicated in the pathophysiology of multiple sclerosis.
