GDP-4-Dehydro-6-deoxy-D-mannose, also known as GDP-4-dehydro-D-rhamnose or GDP-4-keto-6-deoxymannose CAS 18186-48-6, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as purine nucleotide sugars. These are purine nucleotides bound to a saccharide derivative through the terminal phosphate group. GDP-4-Dehydro-6-deoxy-D-mannose is a strong basic compound (based on its pKa). GDP-4-Dehydro-6-deoxy-D-mannose exists in all living organisms, ranging from bacteria to humans. Within humans, GDP-4-dehydro-6-deoxy-D-mannose participates in a number of enzymatic reactions.
