Gastrin 1 Peptide (Rat)
Product description
Gastrin 1 (Gastrin or Gastrin-17) corresponds to aa 76-92 of progastrin. Gastrin stimulates the stomach mucosa to produce hydrochloric acid and the pancreas to secrete digestive enzymes. Gastrin also stimulates smooth muscle contraction and increases blood circulation and water secretion in the stomach and intestine. Progastrin is processed in two major bioactive gastrins, gastrin-17 and gastrin-34. Gastrin is used as a marker for gastritis.
