Product description
Ethidium Homodimer-2 (EthD-2) is usually used as a cell-impermeant viability indicator. It is a high-affinity nucleic acid stain that is weakly fluorescent until bound to DNA and emits red fluorescence (excitation/emission maxima ~535/624). It is often used together with Calcein AM. The viability of cells can be readily assessed by staining with calcein acetoxymethyl ester (Calcein AM) and EthD-2.
