Cholesterol-PEG600-NTA(Nitrilotriacetic acid)/Cholesterol-polyethylene glycol600-Nitrilotriacetic acid/NTA-PEG600-Cholesterol is an amphiphilic PEG reagent. By relying on the NTA group, transition metal ions such as Ni²⁺ can be efficiently complexed, and His tagged proteins can be specifically captured. Combined with the membrane anchoring properties of cholesterol, the target protein can be directionally fixed on the surface of liposomes and cell membranes. It can also be used to construct functionalized lipid nanoparticles for targeted delivery of His tagged proteins, as well as for protein interaction studies related to biofilms, combining the biocompatibility of PEG with the membrane affinity of cholesterol.
