Cell Counting Kit-8/Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8)/CCK8 test kit/Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8)/Cell Counting Kit-8, also known as CCK-8 kit, is a fast and highly sensitive kit based on WST-8 that is widely used for cell activity and cytotoxicity detection.
WST-8 is an upgraded product of MTT, and its working principle is that in the presence of electron coupling reagents, it can be reduced by dehydrogenase in mitochondria to produce highly water-soluble orange yellow formazan products. The depth of color is directly proportional to cell proliferation and inversely proportional to cytotoxicity. Using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to measure the OD value at a wavelength of 450nm indirectly reflects the number of living cells.

The CCK-8 method is widely used, such as drug screening, cell proliferation assay, cytotoxicity assay, tumor drug sensitivity test, and biological factor activity detection.
