Black phosphorus quantum dots (BPQDs) are nanocrystals made of black phosphorus, a 2D layered material with a high carrier mobility and optical properties that are tunable across the visible to near-infrared spectrum. Folate, on the other hand, is a water-soluble form of vitamin B9 that can be conjugated to BPQDs to enable targeted delivery of the nanocrystals to cancer cells that overexpress folate receptors.
