Alginate-Thiol

Alginate is mainly sodium alginate from brown algae(such as Laminaria)or soil bacteria(such as brown nitrogen fixing bacteria)Sodium alginate,a biodegradable hydrophilic polysaccharide,can be used as microspheres for drug delivery system. We can use FITC/rhodamine/Cy3/Cy5/cy7/ICG and other fluorescent dyes to label sodium alginate to make fluorescent microspheres for in vivo imaging.We can also modify alginate with amino,sulfhydryl,maleimide,activated lipid,biotin and azide,and couple polymers,antibodies,proteins,peptides or other small molecules with sodium alginate,which can be used in tumor targeting research or drug delivery research for different purposes.
