In dilute solutions, some functional groups within AIE molecules exhibit active relative motion(such as vibration and rotation).Molecules in excited states consume light energy in the form of thermal energy through vibration and rotation,resulting in a smaller proportion of energy output in the form of light and a decrease in fluorescence efficiency;When these molecules gather together,the restraining effect of each other restricts the internal movement of the molecules,resulting in a decrease in the proportion of energy dissipated through the movement form and an increase in the proportion of energy output in the form of light,thus exhibiting a phenomenon of fluorescence enhancement.
