Product description
6-Fluoro-6-deoxy-D-galactose (FDG)/CAS No:4536-07-6 is a fluorinated sugar. FDG has been shown to inhibit the uptake of glucose by l1210 murine cells, as well as the transport of glucose into the cell. It also inhibited cell culture and enzyme activities in human liver tissue. The electron microscopic analysis of cytochalasin B and trifluoroacetic acid treated cells showed that FDG disrupts the microtubule network, leading to inhibition of cellular proliferation. FDG has also been found to inhibit the synthesis of DNA and RNA in L5178 murine lymphoma cells.
