Exosomes are small extracellular vesicles (typically 30-150 nanometers in diameter) secreted by various cell types into the extracellular environment.Exosomes are formed within endosomal compartments, particularly multivesicular bodies (MVBs). When these MVBs fuse with the plasma membrane, they release their contents into the extracellular space.
